NIDEK Co., Ltd. announced today that it has sold a total of 1,000 units of the EC-5000 Excimer Laser Corneal Surgery System. The NIDEK EC-5000 is designed to reshape the cornea for PRK, PRK of moderate myopia with astigmatism (consecutive correction of myopia and astigmatism), PTK and LASIK.

NIDEK has been offering its advanced technologies to customers in the U.S.A., Europe, China, Japan, and many more countries around the world for over 10 years.

There are numerous corporations marketing the excimer laser worldwide, including six(6) major manufacturers; however, only a few have attained the sale of 1,000 units, and NIDEK is the only Japanese corporation to reach this milestone.

NIDEK celebrated this illustrious achievement by holding the “Shipment Ceremony of the 1000th Unit” on August 6, 2004 at 1:30 pm as shown below:
