NIDEK launched New Ophthalmic Surgical System CV-9000

NIDEK CO., LTD., a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of ophthalmic equipment, is pleased to introduce the gold standard Ophthalmic Surgical System CV-9000. The CV-9000 has been designed with the utmost in safety, efficiency, and ergonomics in mind. The CV-9000 intuitive graphics user interface (offered in 9 languages) enhances efficiency of the surgical team. The redesigned handpiece facilitates surgical maneuvers and enhances its durability.

The CV-9000 includes three optional software packages for reliable aspiration and ultrasound performance. One includes Auto Pulse System Plus (APS Plus) and Pro-pedal mode. Another includes Variable Intervals and Strokes (VIS) and Burst mode. The other includes all of them. The APS-plus automatically limits the duty of ultrasound to the optimum value, hence reducing the risk of posterior capsule rupture. The pro-pedal mode allows customized programming of the parameters for each foot pedal position. VIS provides dual-oscillation of conventional and ultra-short pulses to enhance capture of the lens nucleus and efficient aspiration. The burst mode provides burst of ultrasound power by controlling interval times between each oscillation.

An additional feature is high-speed cutter for anterior vitrectomy (1,000 cpm) which reduces traction of the vitreous. The combination of features in the CV-9000 allows the reduction of thermal load, decreases surgical time and capsular damage.
