NIDEK launches the LSFG-RetFlow Laser Speckle Flowgraphy

NIDEK CO., LTD., a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of ophthalmic, optometric, and lens edging equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of the LSFG-RetFlow Laser Speckle Flowgraphy.

The LSFG-RetFlow is an innovative product for non-invasive, real-time imaging and measurement of ocular blood flow that will aid in the clinical evaluation of glaucoma and retinochoroidal vascular disease.



This unique technology provides 16 indices of the retinochoroidal vascular dynamics based on the MBR (Mean Blur Rate), which measures relative blood flow velocity. MBR correlates to the actual rate of blood flow*. The MBR is presented in an intuitive color-coded map for evaluation of the onset, progression and follow-up of disease. Quantitative assessment makes follow-up measurements easy because changes in indices are clearly recognized. Practitioners can select the indices that meet their clinical needs.

The LSFG-RetFlow includes multiple user-friendly functions for enhanced versatility. The instrument design and function ensure patient comfort. Measurements are acquired by simply selecting a region of interest and clicking a mouse button for automated operation that is completed in 4 seconds. Autotracking makes follow-up assessment easy and accurate. A wide viewing angle of 22 degrees acquires the macula and optic disc in one image.
