NIDEK launches the PHANTOM™ Open-field Refraction System

NIDEK CO., LTD., a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ophthalmic, optometric, and lens edging equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of the PHANTOM™ Open-field Refraction System.

 

PHANTOM™ is a true open-field binocular refraction system that redefines the very concept of refraction. By eliminating physical lenses—no lenses in front of the eyes—, it provides a comfortable and highly accurate examination under natural viewing conditions. For both objective and subjective refraction, the chart appears to float in space, giving patients a fresh, WOW testing experience. Refractive errors are corrected by virtual lenses simulating the same optical properties as real lenses.

 

PHANTOM™ enables simple refraction through high accuracy, by automatically adjusting sphere, cylinder, and axis based on patient responses. Quick and efficient examination can be completed in under five minutes*, thanks to high measurement accuracy that reduces final checks and improves patient throughput. The intuitive touchscreen and on-screen guidance make operation easy for anyone—even staff with limited experience.
