NIDEK’s OPD-Scan lll received Silmo d’OR

NIDEK CO., LTD. announced that is received “Silmo d’OR” in the category of eye test instrument in Silmo2008, which is held in Paris from October 31st to November 3rd.

Silmo is one of the biggest international exhibition held in Paris, France every year for the latest eyeglass frames, lenses, optic instruments and eye test instruments as well as MIDO which is in Milan, in spring.

The Silmo d’OR is the award given for the best eyeglass frame, lens, optic instrument and eye test instrument in Silmo. This year, the NIDEK’s OPD-Scan ? / ARK-10000 was awarded in the category of the eye test instruments.

The OPD-Scan II was awarded because it measures the degree of refraction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism in detail. The information from the OPD-Scan ? helps recognition of eye conditions and makes accurate eyeglasses for patients.

Besides, the NIDEK’s Lfu-200 won the special prize because for consideration of the environment. Generally, eyeglass lens is ground with water to fit eyeglass’s frame. The Lfu-200 is the instrument to divide water from lens edging into clear water and waste of lens. Therefore, it enables to dispose the dust of lens properly. The Lfu-200 was awarded because it is environmentally sensitive.

OPD-Scan II / ARK-10000 product information

The OPD-Scan II is the ophthalmic equipment to provide information on corneal topography, wavefront, autorefraction, keratometry and pupillometry in one unit. It shows how the light through the cornea or crystalline lens focus on the retina. The data helps to select of IOL for patients, LASIK, and to select lens for eyeglasses or contact lens.

Lfu-200 product information

The Lfu-200 is the filtration equipment for lens edging. It divides water into clear water and waste of lens. It enables the appropriate disposal of lens dust for the ecology. The water for lens edging is circulated through the Lfu-200 so that it saves water, and decreases the times of changing water.
